8.21. Backup my data files and attach to my ticket.

If you run across some issues and the Support Team asks you to backup your data files and attach them to the ticket, here are the instructions on how to do this.

1. First click on the Windows Start button on your desktop and browse over to Star Bill of Lading, (Utilities - if below W10), and select Backup-Restore Data Files Utility as shown.

2. When the Backup Utility runs, you will see the following screen.

This shows you the systems location of the data files that are to be backed up along with a name - default is to be created.  If you would like to save the .zip file to your desktop to make it easy to access, click on the folder icon to the right of to browse to a location and select your Desktop as shown below.

Then click on the Save button.

3. This will display the Backup screen again as displayed below.

4. Click on the Backup Button.  This will save your data files for the software to a file called and store it on your Desktop.

After this has been performed, you can either reply to the email if you are processing the ticket that way, or if you actually are processing through the web ticket, you need to attach the file you just created to the ticket.  If using your email, you should know how to attach a file to the email.  If not, see your Adminstrator for instructions.

If using the Web Ticket, here are the instructions to attach a file.

Click on the Choose File button when updating your ticket.

Browse to your Desktop and select the file you just created - and click the Open Button.

This will load the file to be uploaded, and finish by clicking on the Update Request Button.
